Country in the City

This project was all about a simple, clean design that would capture the notion of understated elegance. The client had relocated from a rural location so maximizing privacy was key. This was achieved through the strategic placing of mature evergreens juxtaposed with custom cedar privacy screens, which simultaneously add architectural focal points to the space. Soft grasses and a bubbling rock emulate the textures and sounds of the countryside. Two large flagstone patios flank the in-ground pool, creating symmetry and allowing ample space to both lounge and dine al-fresco. Hardscaping and softscaping were used in equal measure, with a flagstone inlay connecting the home’s covered porch with the additional outdoor entertaining spaces. Landscape lighting adds ambiance, while a full irrigation system contributes to the functionality of the design.
